The bestiary is categorized for the different types of content present in BlackTalon, such as task bosses, quest bosses, and monsters from the Hunting Grounds. You can view the desired creature you want to learn more about by clicking on the correct category.
Once inside the correct category, the menu will display question marks, meaning you will need to kill at least one of the creatures to unlock it in the bestiary. Once unlocked, you can click on its image for a more detailed menu with information about the creature.
In the bestiary menu, you can also organize how monsters are displayed in three options: progress, area, and level. You can also type the monster's name to find it quickly without relying on the filter.
When looking at a specific creature, you can see all the unlockable information about it. You will need to reach a certain number of kills to continue unlocking information, which will be further elaborated later. You will also gain a small bonus upon completing the required number of kills for that monster.
Each monster has a different number of kills required to fully unlock the bestiary, so the challenge is not in vain for those who like to complete content 100%.
Although the bestiary has various categories for different content, it is mainly divided into two types: normal creatures and bosses. They function differently within the bestiary.
General Information
As shown in the image, when you kill one of the creatures, you will unlock its menu in the bestiary. Clicking on its portrait will bring up the menu shown in the image.
Here, you can see the monster's image, the number of kills (green bar), difficulty (stars), health/experience/speed, the completion bonus (in red, inside the box), and loot information.
You unlock parts of the information by reaching thirds of the total number of kills required to complete the monster.
The bonus (in red inside the box) will turn green once you reach the total number of kills, meaning you now have the specified bonus active for your character.
Normal Creatures
For normal creatures, once you complete the first third of the total number of kills, you will unlock information about its health, experience, and speed, as well as loot from strange to rare orbs. The second third will unlock loot information for epic orbs, and finally, the last third will unlock loot information for legendary orbs, as well as activating the bonus.
Boss Creatures
For boss creatures, the mechanics are different from normal creatures, as they cannot be elite creatures and, therefore, cannot have different classes. The first third will unlock information about health, experience, and speed. The second third will unlock loot information from uncommon to semi-rare, and the last third will unlock very rare loot information, as well as activating the bonus, as shown in the image. Exclusively for the boss bestiary, once you fully complete a boss's bestiary, you will gain a 100% chance bonus to obtain its Soul Scroll.
